PB Djarum Audition in Kudus attracts 1,601 young athletes

The 2026 PB Djarum General Audition is currently underway in Kudus, Central Java, attracting 1,601 young badminton players from across Indonesia, including participants from Papua and Sumatra. The event, held at GOR Jati from September 9 to 13, serves as a gateway for talented youth to join the Djarum Beasiswa Bulutangkis program.

Scouts, including legend Yuni Kartika and head scout Sigit Budiarto, are evaluating participants across three age categories: U-11, KU-11, and KU-12. While the number of female participants is lower than males, scouts noted high technical quality and promising potential in the youngest age groups. Beyond on-court performance, successful candidates will undergo a quarantine phase to assess physical and mental attributes.

Individual stories of dedication have emerged, such as Fiendiziya Gwen Fernandes from Tanjung Pinang, who relocated to Sleman to train more intensively before the audition. Other participants, like Siti Athiyyah Salsabila from Mimika, Papua, traveled extensively and prepared weeks in advance to compete for a Super Ticket.
