Fuel price trends vary across Brazilian municipalities

Recent data from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) shows varying trends in fuel prices across different Brazilian municipalities for the week of October 4 to 10, 2026.

In Rio Branco, gasoline prices reached an average of R$ 7.26 per liter, which is approximately 11% higher than the national average of R$ 6.54. This represents a slight weekly increase of 0.14%. Analysts suggest that factors such as market instability, distribution costs, and profit margins influence these regional discrepancies.

Conversely, in Campos dos Goytacazes, the average price for common gasoline saw a slight decrease of 0.15%, dropping to R$ 6.67 per liter. However, other fuels in the region experienced price hikes: hydrated ethanol rose by 1.04% to R$ 4.86, common diesel increased by 0.6%, and diesel S10 rose by 0.88% to R$ 6.90. The price of cooking gas remained stable at R$ 101.09.
