Fuel prices decrease in Jamaica and Malaysia

Fuel prices are set to decrease in Jamaica and Malaysia due to shifts in ex-refinery and global oil market costs.

In Jamaica, Petrojam announced that effective August 13, 2026, gasoline and diesel prices will drop. 90-octane gasoline will decrease by $0.25 to $213.22 per litre, and 87-octane will drop by $0.25 to $204.37 per litre. Automotive diesel and ultra-low sulphur diesel will both see a $0.25 reduction. Additionally, propane liquid petroleum will decrease by $0.04, and butane liquid petroleum will drop by $0.25.

In Malaysia, the finance ministry announced price reductions for RON97, unsubsidised RON95, and diesel effective tomorrow. RON97 will drop by 20 sen to RM4.15 per litre, while unsubsidised RON95 will decrease by 15 sen to RM3.62 per litre. Unsubsidised diesel will see a 10 sen reduction to RM4.47 per litre. These rates are expected to remain in effect until August 19. The ministry noted that while prices are dropping, volatility is expected due to global crude oil movements.
