Fuel prices in Araraquara decline for second consecutive month

In Araraquara, fuel prices have decreased for the second consecutive month. According to data from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) analyzed by Sincomercio Araraquara, ethanol saw the largest drop in August at 4.42%, falling from an average of R$ 3.61 to R$ 3.45 per liter.

Diesel prices also declined by 2.95%, moving from R$ 6.45 to R$ 6.26, marking four consecutive months of price reductions. Common gasoline decreased by 1.12% to R$ 6.19 per liter, while cooking gas saw a slight reduction of 0.42%.

Economist Maria Clara Kirsch noted that while the sequence of drops may gradually alleviate mobility costs for families and transport-dependent sectors, it is too early to determine if this represents a long-term trend, as prices remain subject to exchange rates, oil costs, and internal supply.
