Fuel prices show mixed trends across Spanish provinces

Fuel prices in Almería, Spain, have seen a notable decrease over the last three weeks. Since September 28, the average price of 95 gasoline has dropped from 1.914 €/L to 1.759 €/L, representing an 8.1% reduction. This change allows for a savings of approximately 7.80 € when filling a 50-liter tank. Diesel prices have also seen a slight decline of 1.6%, moving from 1.909 €/L to 1.878 €/L.

Following a tax reduction implemented by the Spanish government on October 1, gasoline has become cheaper than diesel in Almería, reversing a traditional trend.

In contrast, residents in Tenerife, Canary Islands, continue to struggle with high costs. Fuel price increases in the Canary Islands have reached 35% over the last year, the highest rate in Spain. Local commuters report that filling a tank now costs upwards of 100 euros, leading some to consider switching to public transportation or alternative mobility methods to manage expenses.
