Fuel stations in Brazil transition toward service and energy hubs

Fuel stations are undergoing a structural transformation, evolving from simple refueling points into multi-service hubs that integrate convenience, food, and financial services. This shift aims to capture a larger share of consumer routines by prioritizing practicality and diverse service offerings.

In São Paulo, Rede Paz is spearheading an expansion into electric vehicle infrastructure. Led by Luiz Felipe do Valle Silva do Quental de Menezes, the company aims to install 300 ultra-fast chargers in the capital by the end of 2027. This strategy seeks to accommodate the coexistence of traditional internal combustion engines with the growing number of electric and hybrid vehicles.

Technological integration is also optimizing backend operations. The use of cash recycling technologies in self-service terminals is helping manage cash flow and security, while data shows that a significant portion of customers using financial services at these locations also make purchases in convenience stores.
