Fuel tanker accidents cause explosions and road closures in California and Mexico

A series of fuel-related transport accidents occurred in California and Mexico, leading to significant road closures and emergency responses.

In Selma, California, a fuel tanker carrying approximately 32,500 liters of gasoline collided with a parked delivery truck on Highway 99. The impact caused a massive explosion and a large fire, resulting in the closure of the southbound lanes. Both drivers managed to escape the vehicles with minor injuries.

In Huauchinango, Puebla, a tanker carrying 12,000 liters of LP gas overturned on the Cuacuila-Xaltepec road. The accident caused a gas leak, prompting authorities to establish a one-kilometer security perimeter and close several access points, including the Mexico-Tuxpan highway. One driver was rescued with non-life-threatening injuries.
