In contrast, small Italian municipalities are adopting different fuel management models to combat rising costs and service shortages. In areas like Valle Castellana, local administrations are managing gas stations directly to ensure service continuity in locations where private operators find it unprofitable to remain. Because these municipal stations prioritize service over high profit margins, they often offer more affordable fuel prices for residents and commuters.
