FuelTech launches FT470 engine management unit

FuelTech has launched the FT470, a new engine management unit (ECU) designed for a wide range of applications, from motorcycles to V8 engines with up to 16 cylinders. Unlike previous models, the FT470 does not feature a built-in screen. Instead, it utilizes the FuelTech Vision software to connect via Wi-Fi to smartphones, tablets, or computers, allowing users to use their own devices as a digital dashboard.

The unit includes an integrated wideband oxygen sensor conditioner, which simplifies installation by reducing the need for extra modules and wiring to monitor air-fuel mixtures. Technical features include port and direct injection support, a customizable CAN FD bus, knock monitoring, and drive-by-wire throttle control. The system also features a Flex IO setup providing up to 27 inputs for sensor-heavy configurations and a datalogger capable of recording a full day of track performance.
