Fuengirola and Ceuta mark local festivities and civil movements
Fuengirola is celebrating its patron saint festivities, honoring Nuestra Señora del Rosario Coronada. The event included a traditional Flamenco Mass and a large procession through the streets. During the religious ceremonies, Mayor Ana Mula presented the flag of Ceuta as an offering to pray for its residents and the resolution of the ongoing crisis in that city.
The festivities continue with various musical performances, including flamenco artists and pop singers, as well as activities for children and youth. The fair is scheduled to run until October 12.
In Ceuta, the association Renace Ceuta is organizing civil movement activities in response to the migration crisis. The group plans a popular flag-swearing ceremony on October 17 and a ‘Macro Día de la Mochila’ event on October 31 and November 1. This larger event aims to serve as a platform for civil demands regarding migration and border policies, featuring musical performances, workshops, and demonstrations.
