Fuengirola and Torremolinos host traditional cultural festivals

Traditional festivities are underway in the Costa del Sol region, with Fuengirola and Torremolinos hosting major cultural events.

In Fuengirola, the ninth edition of ‘Fuengirola a Caballo’ saw significant participation. The event, held as part of the Feria del Rosario celebrations, featured equestrian displays, a costume and harness contest, an Amazon parade, and an international traditional harness competition held in memory of José Luis Martín Lorca. Mayor Ana Mula highlighted the importance of the equestrian world to the local community and the annual fair.

In Torremolinos, thousands of people participated in the traditional pilgrimage to honor the town’s patron, Arcangel San Miguel. The procession included 54 decorative carts and floats pulled by oxen and tractors, moving from the San Miguel hermitage through the town center to the local fairgrounds. The event featured musical performances, including the duo Los del Río, and was monitored by local police and civil protection services. Mayor Margarita del Cid reported that the event proceeded without serious incidents.
