Fuengirola completes 24 municipal support homes for young families

The Fuengirola city council has finished construction of a complex of 24 municipal support apartments in the Carvajal neighbourhood. The housing units, aimed at residents under 35 who struggle to obtain market‑rate homes, will be offered on a temporary affordable‑rental basis.

The project, costing €3.87 million, was co‑financed by the European Union’s Next Generation funds, which covered 28.86% of the expense. The development includes two‑bedroom, two‑bath apartments with terraces, twelve underground parking spaces, and was built by contractor Glesa over 547 days on a 3,376‑square‑metre municipal plot on Begoña Street. Allocation of the apartments to eligible applicants will begin shortly, following the city’s housing‑demand registry process.
