Partizan Fuenlabrada: Spanish club rebrands to honor Belgrade partnership

The Spanish basketball club Baloncesto Fuenlabrada has officially rebranded as Partizan Fuenlabrada, formalizing a 35-year partnership with the Serbian club Partizan Belgrade. This historical connection dates back to the 1991-92 season when Partizan was forced to play its European home games in Fuenlabrada due to the war in the Balkans. The new alliance includes collaborative projects in sports, player development, marketing, and institutional cooperation.

To celebrate this new era, the two teams faced each other in a preseason friendly at the Aleksandar Nikolić Hall as part of the AdmiralBet Open Air 2026 tournament. Partizan Belgrade secured a dominant 98:55 victory over the newly named Partizan Fuenlabrada. The match featured standout performances from Derek Willis and showcased new players like Luka Vildoza in front of a home crowd.
