Fuerteventura expands Nordic tourism reach with new flight routes
The Fuerteventura Tourism Board is strengthening its presence in Nordic markets through professional presentations held in Copenhagen and Stockholm. This initiative aims to diversify the island's tourism towards high-value markets in Northern Europe.
As part of this strategy, TUI Nordic will enhance air connectivity to Fuerteventura starting October 23, 2026. The operator, which resumed activities in April 2026 after a seven-year absence, will provide regular flights from Stockholm every Friday. Additionally, special flights will operate from Copenhagen and Oslo during school holiday periods in Denmark and Norway.
The promotional events included participation from hotel chains such as Coral Hoteles, Elba Hoteles, and Meliá Hoteles. The focus on the Nordic region is driven by the high spending capacity and longer average stays of travelers from these countries. For instance, Swedish tourists recorded an average expenditure of 1,547 euros per person, while Danish tourists showed high daily spending rates.
