Fuerteventura hosts professional forums on technology and tourism

Fuerteventura has hosted two significant professional gatherings focused on innovation and the strategic future of the Eastern Canary Islands.

The «Hackathon Talento Local y Tecnología 2026» was organized by the Fuerteventura Chamber of Commerce to encourage young people to develop technological solutions for local challenges. Participants worked in teams to address issues regarding sustainability, resource management, the blue economy, and tourism innovation. The event included mentorship and training sessions to help attendees transform creative ideas into concrete proposals for the territory.

Additionally, a professional conference in Puerto del Rosario brought together tourism experts from Fuerteventura and Lanzarote to discuss sector-wide challenges. Organized by Asofuer and Skål Internacional Canarias, the forum focused on four strategic pillars: tourism security, human resources and talent retention, the application of artificial intelligence, and regional connectivity. The initiative aimed to foster collaboration between the two islands to promote a sustainable tourism model that supports local employment and territorial protection.
