Fuerteventura launches educational programs and student housing study
The Cabildo de Fuerteventura has launched several initiatives aimed at supporting students and educational centers. Through the ‘Cabildo Educa’ program for the 2026-2027 school year, the local government is offering over 20 activities, including workshops, talks, and media literacy sessions. Notable participants include badminton player Carolina Marín, who will discuss mental strength, and journalist Pedro Piqueras, who will address digital habits among students.
Simultaneously, the Cabildo’s Service of Education and Youth has initiated a study to investigate the housing challenges faced by local students who must move away from the island to continue their studies. The study uses an anonymous questionnaire to collect data on housing costs, accessibility difficulties, and living expenses. President Lola García emphasized the need to understand how the complex housing market and rising costs impact the ability of families to maintain their children's education.
