Fuerteventura PSOE criticizes coastal management delays

The PSOE of Fuerteventura has criticized both the Canary Islands government and the Spanish state for what it describes as the “stagnation” of coastal management on the island. The political group claims that a jurisdictional dispute between the Canary Islands Directorate General of Coasts and the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition's Coastal Demarcation is paralyzing essential infrastructure projects.

According to José Cabrera, secretary of the PSOE in Fuerteventura, these administrative delays affect public safety and local economic activity. Specific projects cited as being stalled include the Tarajalejo promenade and necessary signage at the Cofete cemetery to warn visitors of its status as a burial ground. The party is demanding more proactive management to resolve these pending interventions.
