Fuerza del Pueblo denounces irregularities in ANPA elections

The Fuerza del Pueblo (FP) party has denounced ten alleged irregularities and statutory violations during the elections for the Asociación Nacional de Profesionales Agropecuarios (ANPA) held on September 30.

According to FP spokesperson Héctor Acosta, the grievances include the formation of a National Electoral Commission without representation from the Fuerza Gremial Agropecuaria, the initial rejection of their slate, and the exclusion of hundreds of professionals from the electoral roll. Acosta claimed that over 500 professionals who had regularized their dues were excluded, while more than 600 individuals who allegedly did not meet statutory requirements were permitted to participate.

The party also challenged the leadership of the National Electoral Commission, noting that its president, Juan Alejo Feliz, reportedly held a simultaneous position on the ANPA National Executive Committee, which violates internal statutes prohibiting dual directorships. Despite these obstacles, the Fuerza Gremial Agropecuaria obtained 40% of the votes, while the alliance of the PRM and PLD, which won the election, secured 60%.
