Fuerza del Pueblo deputy predicts opposition alliance for 2028

Félix Michell, a deputy for the Fuerza del Pueblo (FP) representing Santiago, stated that the governing Partido Revolucionario Moderno (PRM) faces a difficult path to remaining in power during the 2028 elections. Michell suggested that the opposition intends to run as an alliance, similar to the coalition formed in 2024.

His comments follow the release of the ACD Media national public opinion poll. The survey results place the PRM at 29.7% in party voting intention, followed by the Fuerza del Pueblo at 21.7% and the Partido de la Liberación Dominicana (PLD) at 17.2%. Michell argued that a governing party with such figures lacks a significant advantage against a unified opposition block.
