Fuerza del Pueblo hosts breast cancer prevention seminar

The Women's Secretariat of the Fuerza del Pueblo (FP) hosted a seminar titled ‘Woman, prevention is life’ in Santo Domingo, focused on breast cancer prevention, early detection, and patient support. The event drew approximately 200 attendees, exceeding the initial expectation of 150.

Medical and wellness experts contributed to the discussion, including gynecological oncologist Dr. Noelia Gómez, who addressed oncological diagnosis and breast reconstruction. Nutritionist Cristal Ulloa discussed the impact of ultra-processed foods on health, while psychologist César Zapata emphasized the necessity of emotional support networks to mitigate the isolation often felt after a diagnosis.

Juliana O’Neal, a deputy and member of the FP Political Directorate who has personally survived three types of cancer, advocated for the necessity of an integral healthcare system to support patients.
