Fuerza Republicana registers with the ANR in Paraguay

The Fuerza Republicana movement has formally registered with the Asociación Nacional Republicana (ANR) in Paraguay. Led by former Vice President Hugo “Toro” Velázquez, the group has designated Luis Pettengill as vice leader and requested the assignment of list 3 for the 2027 internal party elections.

Key appointments within the movement include Juan Francisco Villalba, Lidio Vidal Franco, and Esteban David Aquino as general proxies, Ysabelino Díaz Cáceres as technical representative, and Juan Carlos Duarte as campaign administrator. The registration period for internal movements within the ANR is currently open and will continue until November 30.

This move comes as various factions within the Colorado Party prepare for future electoral contests. While the Honor Colorado sector, led by Horacio Cartes, has announced it will not present candidates for the 2027 primaries, other sectors linked to President Santiago Peña have yet to formalize their internal movements.
