FUFA announces departure of Crested Cranes coach Sheryl Botes

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) and head coach Sheryl Ulanda Botes have mutually agreed to part ways, ending her three-year tenure with the Crested Cranes. Botes, a South African tactician, was the first foreign coach to lead the senior women’s national team, overseeing both the senior squad and youth developmental pathways.

FUFA is reportedly preparing to appoint Asefa Firew Haile Gabreal as Botes’ successor. The Ethiopian coach previously led KCCA Women FC to a FUFA Women Super League and FUFA Women’s Cup title. There are also indications that former head coach Faridah Bulega may join the technical staff as an assistant coach.
