Fugitive inmate kills woman and assaults three youths in Samambaia

Leonardo Ferreira de Almeida, 44, is a fugitive following a series of violent crimes in Samambaia, Distrito Federal. Almeida, who was serving a sentence of over 32 years for previous crimes including homicide, had been granted temporary release for the Father's Day period.

On Monday, October 10, Almeida allegedly killed 70-year-old Francisca Almeida, a woman he considered an adoptive mother, by confining her in a room and administering substances that led to her death. He also reportedly drugged, bound, and sexually assaulted three young women inside the residence.

Following the initial attacks, the suspect kidnapped a 19-year-old victim, transporting her to a wooded area in Morro da Cruz, São Sebastião, where he assaulted her again. The victim managed to escape and seek help. Authorities believe the suspect may have played loud music to mask the sounds of the crimes. Security footage captured the suspect fleeing the scene in a vehicle. Police forces are currently conducting searches to locate the fugitive.
