Fugitive wanted since 2015 arrested in São Luís

Fagner Gomes Sena, a fugitive wanted for over 11 years, was captured in São Luís, Maranhão, during a coordinated security operation. Sena had been on the run since escaping from the Pedrinhas Penitentiary Complex in October 2015.

Authorities reported that Sena had six outstanding warrants against him, including three definitive convictions for qualified homicide and aggravated robbery, totaling more than 35 years in prison. Three other warrants were for preventive detention related to homicide and drug trafficking.

The arrest was carried out in the Maracujá neighborhood through the strategic use of intelligence, drones, and aerial support. During the operation, police seized a restricted 9mm pistol and a false identification document. Consequently, Sena was arrested in flagrante for the possession of the illegal items in addition to the existing warrants. He has been transferred to the local police station and will be moved to the prison system to serve his sentences.
