Fuhriman and Buckingham compete for Idaho House District 30 B

Candidates Ben Fuhriman and Bree Buckingham are contesting the Idaho House District 30 Seat B election, covering Butte and Bingham Counties. The race focuses heavily on economic pressures and rising costs for families in eastern Idaho.

Democratic candidate Bree Buckingham has proposed repealing House Bill 40, which reduced corporate tax rates from 5.695 percent to 5.3 percent. Buckingham characterized the legislation as a $250 million tax cut for corporations that placed a higher financial burden on veterans and individuals receiving SNAP or Medicaid.

Republican incumbent Ben Fuhriman attributed many inflationary factors to federal monetary policy. He stated his focus would be on tax accountability, reducing waste and fraud, and ensuring state agencies operate efficiently to maximize the value of taxpayer dollars.
