Fuji and Tsukuba see restaurant changes as Chammy closes and Sebastian Labo opens

In Shizuoka Prefecture, the potato and Spam specialty shop Chammy in Aoshima-cho, Fuji City, has announced it will close on September 27. The shop, which frequently participates in local events, was approaching its fifth anniversary in September 2026. Its menu included various items such as shaved ice, acai bowls, hot dogs, and churros.

In Ibaraki Prefecture, a new dessert laboratory named Sebastian Labo is scheduled to open in Amakubo, Tsukuba City, on August 28, 2026. The establishment operates on a complete reservation system with only six counter seats. The shop focuses on seasonal fruit-based shaved ice, featuring items such as fig and vanilla milk shaved ice, peach Melba shaved ice, and strawberry crème brûlée shaved ice. Reservations open at 21:00 two days prior to each business day.
