Fuji TV to produce SUPER FORMULA drama series for 2027

Fuji TV has announced a large-scale project centered on the SUPER FORMULA racing series, beginning with a television drama scheduled to air in April 2027. The series aims to depict the intense world of top-level formula car racing, focusing on the technical precision of drivers, engineers, and mechanics as they compete for thousandths of a second.

The project will receive full cooperation from Japan Race Promotion (JRP) and various racing teams. According to JRP Chairman Masahiko Kondo, the production will utilize actual racing footage to provide an authentic portrayal of the sport. The drama is intended to be a human-centric story exploring the passion, conflicts, and bonds within the racing community.

Fuji TV plans to expand this initiative beyond the television series, with goals to produce related films and documentaries. The network also intends to pursue global distribution for these motorsport-themed projects in the future.
