Fujifilm Holdings assesses spin-off of Business Innovation unit
Fujifilm Holdings Corporation has begun assessing a partial spin-off of its Business Innovation division to drive sustainable growth and faster decision-making. The division, which includes digital MFPs, graphic communications equipment, inks, and industrial inkjet printheads, currently accounts for approximately 35% of the group’s consolidated revenue.
Under the proposed structure, Fujifilm Holdings would retain less than 20% of the shares in the newly listed Fujifilm Business Innovation Corporation, with the remaining shares distributed to shareholders through dividends in kind. The company intends to list the subsidiary on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
This strategic move aligns with Fujifilm’s ‘VISION2030’ management plan, which prioritizes investments in healthcare and electronics. While no execution date has been finalized, the company is considering completing the spin-off within the next two to three years, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals.
