Fujifilm announces Fujinon XF 400mm f/4.5 super-telephoto lens

Fujifilm has announced the launch of the Fujinon XF 400mm f/4.5 R LM OIS WR, a super-telephoto prime lens designed for the X Series mirrorless camera system. Aimed at wildlife, sports, aviation, and motorsports photographers, the lens features a 400mm focal length, which provides a 609mm equivalent in 35mm format.

The lens is engineered for handheld mobility, weighing approximately 1,245 grams. It includes optical image stabilization providing up to 5.5 stops of compensation and a high-speed linear autofocus motor. The optical construction consists of 21 elements in 14 groups, incorporating four ED and two Super ED elements to minimize chromatic aberration.

Scheduled for release in mid-September 2026, the lens is priced at approximately $3,199.95. It is compatible with Fujifilm’s 1.4x and 2x teleconverters, which can extend the focal length to 560mm or 800mm respectively. The unit is also weather-sealed to resist dust and moisture.
