Fujifilm shifts focus to X‑T6 launch as X‑T5 sales end in Japan

Fujifilm has stopped selling brand‑new X‑T5 mirrorless cameras on its Japanese online store, offering only refurbished units. The company is reallocating production capacity to its next flagship model, the X‑T6, which is expected to debut in early September. A launch event is planned for September 4‑6 in Paris during the FUJIKINA exhibition.

The X‑T6 is rumored to feature a new 40‑megapixel fourth‑generation X‑Trans CMOS sensor, the X‑Processor 6 image‑processing engine, enhanced AI autofocus and object‑recognition, 8K video recording, and a higher‑capacity NP‑W255 battery that should extend shooting time by about 16 %. The camera may also receive a revised top‑plate dial and a new film‑simulation mode. Fujifilm intends to introduce two new XF lenses alongside the camera, including a likely successor to the XF 50‑140mm f/2.8 II telephoto zoom.
