Fujimi High School women's shogi team places 5th nationally

The women's shogi team from Fujimi High School achieved a 5th place finish at the 50th National High School Cultural Festival held in Yurihonjo, Akita Prefecture. The team, consisting of Rioina Baba, Maho Tokiwa, and Yukino Nakamura, secured their fourth consecutive national ranking.

During the tournament, the team defeated Tottori Nishi, Ikuei Nishi, and Shimokansai, including a notable victory over tournament favorite Nanzan High School in the first round of the knockout stage. They were eventually eliminated in the quarterfinals by Matsue Minami High School.

Other notable performances from the school included the women's volleyball team reaching the round of 16 and track athlete Koga Todo advancing to the semifinals in the 110m hurdles.
