Fujitsu and AEON Food Style begin AI retail‑efficiency trial in Japan

Fujitsu Limited and AEON Food Style Co. are launching a pilot of an AI agent to support retail managers. The trial, scheduled for July 2026 at a physical store, will test two functions: store‑strategy planning and shelf‑layout design.

The AI agent will generate analyses based on the 3C framework, propose medium‑to‑long‑term strategies, and automatically create detailed shelf plans and layout images. The experiment will measure time saved for managers, the tool’s usefulness for training new store managers, and the efficiency gains in communication and execution of shelf layouts. Results are intended to inform further development, potential sales‑growth testing, and expansion to a multi‑AI environment.
