Fujitsu expert discusses superconducting and diamond-spin quantum technologies

At the Fsas Technologies Summit 2026 in Munich, Alejandro Borallo, Head of Quantum Applications at Fujitsu, discussed the technical distinctions between superconducting and diamond-spin quantum computing technologies.

Superconducting technology is noted for its maturity, high operational speed, and ease of scaling within a single chip. In contrast, diamond-spin technology offers higher stability and longer coherence times, which allow for more elaborate algorithms. While diamond-spin is more difficult to scale within a single module, it is better suited for multi-modular scaling and can operate at higher temperatures, between 4 and 8 Kelvin.
