Fukui Prefecture implements AI meeting tool for 5,400 employees
Fukui Prefecture has completed a prefecture-wide rollout of the AI-powered meeting minutes tool ‘YOMEL’, developed by PKSHA Infinity. The implementation provides approximately 5,400 employees with the ability to record, transcribe, and summarize meetings with a single click.
In the first two months of use, the prefecture reported a total usage time of approximately 1,040 hours, which resulted in an estimated reduction of 434 hours in manual minutes-taking tasks. The tool utilizes the ‘Olaris’ speech recognition engine to handle natural conversation and automatic speaker separation, and it is compatible with existing platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.
The DX Promotion Division of the prefecture noted that the tool helps address challenges such as high administrative burdens and inconsistent accuracy in manual documentation. While usage has expanded to include meetings with municipalities and private businesses, officials aim to further increase adoption by using the tool for informal memos and reminders.
