Fukuoka City High School Kendo Tournament Concludes with Upsets

The annual 玉竜旗高校剣道大会 took place on July 27, 2026 at the 照葉積水ハウスアリーナ in Fukuoka City. Teams from across Kyushu competed in the single‑elimination tournament.

Notable performances included Kounan High School’s first‑year student 富島花音, who recorded a five‑person (5人抜き) victory in the fourth round before the team fell to 日章学園 in the fifth round. The women's team from 小禄 also exited in the fourth round, while other schools such as 久留米商部員 received commendations for their effort despite early defeats.
