Fukuoka launches annual Christmas Advent holiday celebrations

Fukuoka City is set to host its annual Christmas Advent festivities, featuring various illumination displays and markets across multiple districts. The celebrations begin in the Nakasu area on November 2, 2026, with the ‘LANDIC presents Nakasu Hikari no Advent’ illumination event. This display will feature twin trees at the Fuku-Haku Ai Bridge and various light installations along Nakasu Chuo-dori, Meiji-dori, and Naka River-dori, running through January 12, 2027.

Following the Nakasu launch, the ‘Shibata Sangyo presents Christmas Market in Hikari no Machi Hakata’ will open at the JR Hakata Station plaza from November 7 to December 25. This market will feature European-style huts, seasonal gourmet food, and exclusive merchandise such as limited-edition mugs.

Other scheduled events across the city include festivities in Tenjin, Watanabe-dori, Daimyo, Momochihama, and Kokura, creating a connected network of holiday lights and markets throughout the Fukuoka region.
