Fukuoka Prefecture launches hydrogen energy tour for students

Fukuoka Prefecture has announced a free “Hydrogen Energy Practical Tour” specifically designed for junior and senior high school students. The initiative aims to promote understanding of hydrogen as a next-generation clean energy source and to foster future human resources in the sector.

The program includes lectures and fieldwork at institutions such as Kyushu University and Kurume National College of Technology. Participants will also have the opportunity to experience testing facilities at the Hydrogen Energy Product Research, Testing and Certification Center (HyTReC) and attend a special lecture by Kawasaki Heavy Industries.

Applications are open from September 17, 2026, to October 30, 2026. The tours are scheduled for two days in November 2026, with limited capacity for approximately 25 students per grade level.
