Fukuoka Prefecture launches recruitment events to address bus driver shortage

Fukuoka Prefecture is launching a series of events to address the shortage of bus and taxi drivers. In collaboration with local public transportation providers, the prefecture will host bus driving experience sessions and joint company information meetings across four major areas: Fukuoka, Kitakyushu, Chikuho, and Chikugo.

These events, which include opportunities to operate buses and participate in discussions with current drivers, are designed to attract individuals interested in transitioning to a career in transportation. The sessions are scheduled to take place between November 2026 and February 2027 at various locations, including the Chikuho Automobile Driving License Testing Ground and Nishitetsu Bus training centers.
