Fukuoka prefecture unveils restaurant guides for Futsuka and Koga

Two local food guides spotlight new dining options in Fukuoka Prefecture. In the Futsuka area, three eateries are featured: Soba Shamisen, a shop opened in July 2023 that serves house‑made soba with locally sourced soy sauce, seaweed broth and a signature yuzu pepper; La Salle à Manger de Miyamoto, a 12‑year‑old French restaurant known for its home‑style ambiance, locally sourced fish, and a popular Imaniri beef cheek dish cooked in red wine; and Hakata Wabi‑suke Fukuma, a spacious izakaya offering a standout tai‑chazuke (sea bream tea rice) and other grilled specialties.

The guide for Koga highlights three venues: R’s café, a gallery‑café where each wall displays rotating artwork and serves specialty coffee, chicken nanban, and house‑made rare‑cheese tarts; Yakitori SHIN, a yakitori shop that hand‑makes its sauces and cabbage toppings, noted for its crunchy chicken skin and vegetable rolls; and 24 Sweets Shop Koga, an unmanned 24‑hour shop offering over 100 types of sweets, with popular items such as roll‑ice and egg‑free Southern‑made donuts. Both guides emphasize local sourcing, handcrafted preparation, and unique dining experiences.
