Fukuoka sake and global wine exhibitions target Taiwan market

The beverage market in Taiwan is seeing increased diversification, highlighted by major promotional activities for international spirits and wines. Fukuoka Prefecture has launched its first dedicated trade mission in Taiwan, featuring nine representative sake breweries. This initiative is the first year of a three-year overseas expansion plan aimed at deepening cooperation with Taiwan's dining and retail sectors. The mission includes products under the ‘GI Fukuoka’ geographical indication, which was officially designated in October 2025 to ensure regional authenticity.

Simultaneously, the ‘Wan You Yin Li 2026’ wine and spirits exhibition is being held at the Taipei Marriott Hotel. The event features 223 breweries and 30 distributors, showcasing a wide range of products including French Grand Cru wines, Italian Barolo, New World cult wines, and premium Japanese sake. The exhibition emphasizes high-end tasting experiences, featuring exclusive releases such as a Taiwan-exclusive Glenmorangie whisky and various collector-grade vintages.
