Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks see farm league home run and a narrow loss

Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks player Jeter Downs hit his first home run of the farm season during a game against the Hiroshima Toyo Carp on August 11. The 28-year-old Colombian infielder, who previously played for the Boston Red Sox and Washington Nationals, hit a solo shot in the fifth inning to help lead the team to a 10-5 victory.

In a separate matchup on August 13, the SoftBank Hawks' winning streak ended with a 3-4 loss to the Chiba Lotte Marines at Mizuho PayPay Dome. Starting pitcher Carter Stewart allowed two runs in two innings of play.
