Japan whisky industry hosts major tasting event and limited releases

The Japanese whisky industry is hosting several notable events and product launches in August 2026. In Fukuoka, the ‘ALLIQ Whisky & Spirits Tasting 2026’ is scheduled for August 26 at TKP Elgarah Hall. The event features approximately 80 manufacturers and importers showcasing a variety of spirits, including gin, rum, vodka, tequila, and brandy. The event offers free participation for food and beverage industry professionals and includes a limited-edition ‘5,000 yen Gacha’ and special bottle sales.

Separately, Royal Mile Co., Ltd. announced the upcoming online release of the Mitake ‘Kakejiku Series’ on August 28. Following a special seminar at BAR Shinjuku Whisky Salon, a survey of 23 participants revealed that 96% would recommend the whisky to others, with all six industry professionals surveyed expressing a desire to recommend it. The limited release consists of 582 bottles of Mitake Single Malt Kakejiku Series 2021-2026, a cask strength product at 58% alcohol.
