Fukushima to host 60th All Japan Surfing Championship

The 60th All Japan Surfing Championship is scheduled to take place from October 8 to October 15, 2026, at Kitaizumi Beach in Minamisoma, Fukushima Prefecture. Organized by the Nippon Surfing Federation (NSA), the event will feature representative surfers selected from 70 branches across Japan competing for the national title.

In conjunction with the championship, the Kitaizumi Surf Festival 2026 was held as a beach event to support the reconstruction of Fukushima through surfing. Recent competition results from the festival include victories in the U-12 categories, with Konami Oe winning the U-12 women's division and Masanari Fujimoto winning the U-12 men's division.

The NSA has included monitoring information regarding the Fukushima sea, specifically for the Kitaizumi bathing area, in the official tournament pamphlet to provide transparency regarding local water conditions.
