Fukushima Watch Company relaunches mirco TYPE-02 chronograph

Fukushima Watch Company, based in Minamisoma, Fukushima Prefecture, has announced the resale of the “TYPE-02,” the flagship automatic chronograph from its original mechanical watch brand, mirco. The model, which first debuted at Baselworld in 2019, had previously ceased production after its initial lot sold out, but is being brought back due to sustained demand from domestic and international customers.

The TYPE-02 is designed with a concept of reimagining how Japanese mechanical watches might have evolved differently since the quartz revolution. It draws inspiration from 1970s racing chronographs and divers' watches, featuring a 42mm SUS316L stainless steel case with a unique combination of mirror-polished and hairline finishes.

The watch is powered by the Seiko/TMI Caliber NE86, a Japanese-made automatic chronograph movement with a high beat of 28,800 vibrations per hour and a power reserve of approximately 45 hours. It includes a sapphire crystal lens and 100m water resistance. The collection will be available in five different color variations, priced at 275,000 yen.
