Fulco Pratesi exhibition opens at Museo di Roma in Trastevere
The Museo di Roma in Trastevere is hosting an exhibition titled ‘Fulco Pratesi. Acquerelli Pionieri’ from September 16 to December 6, 2026. The event commemorates the 60th anniversary of the founding of WWF Italia.
Curated by Isabella and Olympia Pratesi, the exhibition showcases the artistic legacy of Fulco Pratesi, the founder of WWF Italia. The collection includes watercolors, drawings, illustrated notebooks, and travel notes that reflect his lifelong connection to the natural world. Pratesi, an architect, naturalist, and journalist, was a central figure in Italian environmentalism, leading campaigns for the protection of the wolf and the Marsican bear, and contributing to the 1991 framework law on protected areas.
The works on display aim to bridge scientific observation with poetic expression, featuring subjects such as migratory birds, cetaceans, sea turtles, and Mediterranean fauna.
