Fulda students research and maintain WWI war graves

Students from the Richard-Müller-Schule in Fulda participated in a memorial project at the Fulda Central Cemetery on August 17 and 18, 2026. Working alongside the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge and the Catholic Academy of the Diocese of Fulda, the students focused on grave fields from the First World War.

The initiative involved both physical maintenance, such as cleaning and caring for the graves, and historical research to uncover the specific life stories of those buried there. This project is part of an ongoing collaboration that began in 2023, previously focusing on victims of the Second World War to connect historical research with tangible remembrance.
