Fulham begins contract talks with Calvin Bassey amid Inter Milan interest

Fulham FC has initiated preparations for contract negotiations with defender Calvin Bassey to secure a new long-term agreement. The 26-year-old Nigerian international has become a key figure for the West London club, recently winning the club’s Player of the Season award for the 2024/25 campaign.

While Bassey’s current deal is set to expire in 2027, Fulham holds a unilateral option to extend his contract by an additional year, potentially keeping him at the club until June 2028. This clause provides the club with significant leverage amid reported interest from Serie A side Inter Milan.

Bassey, who joined Fulham from Ajax in July 2023, is reportedly happy in West London and open to staying if financial terms are satisfactory. Fulham aims to finalize a new deal to prevent transfer speculation and maintain squad continuity.
