Funabashi and Tokyo districts launch summer digital stamp rallies

Funabashi City in Chiba Prefecture will hold its third "Funabashi Digital Stamp Rally" from August 1 to August 31 2026. Participants download the city’s Smart Life Pass app and collect stamps at five local landmarks—including Benteni Park and the city’s martial‑arts centre—as well as at venues of the Chiba Jets and Tokyo BaT's basketball teams. Earning four or more stamps secures food prizes such as curry and local gummies, while completing all stamps yields special collectible items.

In Tokyo’s Togoshi Ginza shopping street, a "Summer Stamp Festival" runs from August 23 to August 30 2026. Shoppers who spend at least ¥500 at three different participating stores receive a stamp on a sheet; collecting three stamps converts the sheet into a ¥300 coupon usable at any of the 168 participating shops. The event aims to boost foot traffic and family participation during the summer holiday period.
