The National Umeshu Festival in Funabashi 2026 is scheduled to take place at the Funabashi Racecourse in Chiba Prefecture. The event will run for four days on September 22, 23, 26, and 27, 2026.
Attendees will have the opportunity to sample over 120 varieties of plum wine (umeshu) from across Japan, including options based on sake, shochu, brandy, citrus, tea, and green tea. Participants can use a dedicated coin system called ‘Umesen’ to taste various selections.
Special highlights include paid tastings and limited lottery sales of ‘Dassai Umeshu,’ a premium plum wine made with Junmai Daiginjo. The festival also features food pairings, ‘umeshu beer,’ and various merchandise such as tumblers and commemorative T-shirts.
