Funai opens selection process for 807 territorial protection roles
The National Foundation for Indigenous Peoples (Funai) has opened a simplified selection process to hire temporary staff for territorial protection. The recruitment drive offers a total of 807 vacancies distributed across 17 Brazilian states, including Acre, Pará, Maranhão, Rondônia, Mato Grosso, and others.
The positions available are for Temporary Agent in Territorial Protection, requiring a high school diploma and offering a salary of R$ 2,806.88, and Temporary Specialist in Territorial Protection, which requires a higher education degree, a category B driver's license, and team coordination skills, with a salary of R$ 7,647.20. Both roles involve a 40-hour work week and duties related to monitoring indigenous lands, land inspection, and fire prevention.
Organized by Instituto Avalia, the selection process will consist of curriculum analysis and competency-based interviews. Applications are free and can be submitted online via the Instituto Avalia website from September 16 to September 25, 2026. Selected professionals will sign initial four-year contracts.
